Connecticut Electric Vehicle Coalition

Supporting policies that help us drive green & breathe easy

Acadia Center, Chargepoint, Connecticut Fund for the Environment, Environment Connecticut, and the Sierra Club serve as the current steering committee to the Connecticut Electric Vehicle Coalition, which supports policies and incentives that will put more EVs and fuel cell vehicles on the road in Connecticut and achieve significant economic, public health, and climate benefits for our state.

Electric vehicles (EVs) and other clean vehicles, such as fuel cell vehicles, are an essential part of Connecticut’s energy future. EVs and fuel cell vehicles emit little or no harmful tailpipe pollution and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. They are also cheaper to fuel, easier to maintain, and fun to drive.

But there are challenges to the wide adoption of EVs, including price, lack of familiarity, and inadequate charging infrastructure. To cut emissions and build a clean energy future, we must establish policies that will make more EVs affordable and appealing for Connecticut consumers.
